Heath and safety in the work place is governed by laws. It applies to employers, self-employed people and employees in their workplaces, including both fixed-term and temporary employees.
The main legislation that covers the health and safety of all stakeholders in the workplace is the amended Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. This act sets out the rights and obligations of both employees and employers, it also sets out the substantial fines and penalties for breaches to said legislation.

The handbook contains guidelines on the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, as well as details on other legislative provisions. The whole handbook can be accessed in its entirety or by individual section through the ISME Member Area.
