Newly appointed as President of the Hairdressing Council of Ireland, Sean Taaffe from Killarney is honored and fully committed to fulfilling the promise of change and further development of the Hairdressing Industry.
The Hairdressing Council is the largest and leading industry body in the country and represents the totality of the Industry. Sean is one of the Council members on the Apprenticeship Steering Group for the New Hairdressing Apprenticeship to be launched later this year.
In his own business, he started out as a one person operator and currently has a team of 65 people in his 5 businesses in Co Kerry. Never one to stand still, Sean is currently completing his second year in Professional Business Development at University Limerick to further enhance his salon & educational company.
In competition, The Sean Taaffe Salon Group is no stranger to success, having won Munster Salon of the Year and Salon of the Year in the Alfaparf & Schwarzkopf Business Awards. Sean has represented Ireland many times at world level, bringing home Bronze medals from the OMC World Championships in Frankfurt and the OMC Asia Cup Open in Malaysia in the fashion Cut&Colour categories. Last year he became a Juror for OMC World Hairdressing Championships in Paris.
He is also proud to be a Trainer for the Alfaparf Hair Company in Precision Haircutting.
