Barbara Aldritt began her hairdressing career in Ireland. After becoming qualified in all aspects of hairdressing, she moved to Australia where she gained vast experience and honed her skills both creatively and in business. When she finally returned to Ireland in 1993 she established her brand ‘Bankz’ in Portlaoise.
Bankz Hair & Beauty salon provides super quality hairdressing and beauty services in its 2,500 sqft spacious, custom built 5 star salon. They offer a full range of services in hair, nails, make-up and beauty treatments, along with specialising in wedding haircare. A range of tools and hair & beauty products are available including eco-friendly products not tested on animals, which are also hypoallergenic. Barbara and her team have won many prestigious industry awards in hairdressing, hair photography, and business matters including the Schwarzkopf Business Awards.
Barbara’s own passion is in cutting, colouring and hair extensions. As a wig specialist too, Barbara is sensitive to the challenges of clients with hair loss and provides a private wig room where her empathy and professionalism come to the fore with clients who need special care while undergoing invasive medical treatments.
A former Industry President and IHF executive committee member for 20 years, Barbara has also trained 5 staff members who went on to represent Team Ireland in hairdressing competitions all over Europe.
